Investments in Ukrainian Defence Tech Exceeded $100 Million in 2025 — UCDI Investor Club Overview

14 January 2026. Kyiv, Ukraine. The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry announces the official launch of UCDI Investor Club — a platform that connects institutional investors with Ukrainian defence companies. The Club’s goal is to attract investment into Ukraine’s defence ecosystem, support collaboration on deals and capital raising, and coordinate joint actions.

The Club, which began operating in October, already brings together 15 investment funds that specialise specifically in defence investments and are already investing in Ukrainian companies. These include Darkstar VC, UA1, D3 VC, Defence Builder & Defender Ventures, MITS Capital, Resist.UA, Baryon Investment Fund, Double Tap Investments, Miltech Capital, Green Flag Ventures, Freedom Fund, Varangians, Angel One, Nezlamni.

“A war is underway — and it must be won — so we focus on practical solutions that strengthen Ukrainian defence tech here and now. We have united strong specialised investors into a single platform to build an ecosystem for the sector’s growth,” — Evelyn Buchatskyi, Head of UCDI Investor Club and Managing Partner at D3.

“Ukraine’s defence industry has real cases and real demand, yet from an investment perspective it remains undervalued. That is why we brought together funds that work systematically with Ukrainian defence and prove its investment attractiveness by their own example. There is a lot of work ahead. I hope that in 2026 other funds will follow the same path. As for us, we always keep the door open to new members,” — Ihor Fedirko, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry.

Dealbook on Investments in Ukrainian Defence Tech 2023–2025

The first analytical product of UCDI Investor Club is Dealbook — an overview of investments in Ukrainian defence technologies for 2023–2025. It systematises publicly available and verified market data on deals, investors, verticals, and funding stages.

Key figures:

• Between 2023 and 2025, publicly disclosed investments increased from $1.1 million to $105 million — nearly 100x in two years: $1.1m in 2023, $28.7m in 2024, $105.2m in 2025.

• In 2025, investment volume exceeded $100 million.

• About 30% of investments remain undisclosed, so public figures understate the real market scale.

• The largest funding volumes are concentrated in unmanned systems and autonomy — including maritime uncrewed platforms, drone autonomy, UAVs, and ground platforms.

• A signal of market maturity: the share of investments in scale-up and follow-on rounds is increasing.

• Average cheque sizes are rising: the average Pre-seed deal size grew from $215k in 2023 to $718k in 2025; at the Seed stage — from $1.8m in 2024 to $2.9m in 2025.
